Teenage Girls Physical Activity Summit - contributions from participants

This paper sets out the contributions from the participants of the Teenage Girls Physical Activity Summit which was held on 30 August 2010.

The Minister for Public Health and Sport announced the intention at the 2010 PAHA conference to hold two summits focused on increasing levels of physical activity around teenage girls and older adults. These two groups were singled out as priority groups within the 5 Year Review of Let’s Make Scotland More Active.

The "Teenage Girls" summit took place on 30 August 2010 at the University of Edinburgh and focussed on bringing the issue of low or falling participation levels in teenage girls to an audience who has considerable influence in making a positive difference. Participants were drawn widely from across different sectors and organisations to enable a ‘joined-up’ approach.

This paper details the contributions from participants gathered on the day.
