Sustrans is the UK's leading sustainable transport charity.
Sustrans provide creative, innovative and practical solutions to the transport challenges affecting us all. Working with communities, local authorities and many other organisations, Sustrans create change by putting people at the heart of activities, enabling many more people to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment.
In partnership with local authority school travel co-ordinator throughout Scotland, Sustrans promote safer routes to school and the development of school travel plans. Programmes of work such as Tackling the School Run have also been implemented to enable more children to walk and cycle to school.
While their Active Travel team works directly with people who would like to be more active in their daily lives, to enable them to discover or re-discover the joy of walking and cycling in their local area.
Sustrans are also lead the development and expansion of the National Cycle Network throughout Scotland.
