Physical Activity Resources

There are a number of resources available to help professionals in Scotland to encourage the people that they work with to be more physically active.

The resources, although useful, can often be hosted on different sites and by different organisations. PAHA has created this page to assist you in your efforts to promote physical activity by creating a one stop shop for physical activity resources.

 

Get Active Your Way Every Day

Get active your way every day is a public facing booklet and activity wheel which can be used to educate and encourage those that you are working with to be more active.

Get active your way every day - print friendly resource

This short print-friendly resource is designed for healthcare professionals to give to their patients. This leaflet provides the ‘need to know’ information about being active. More information on being more active can be found in the more detailed get active your way every day booklet.

Scottish physical activity screening questionnaire (Scot-PASQ)

The Scot-PASQ is a tool that can be used to ascertain how active a person is and how ready they are to change their behaviour.

Brief advice and brief intervention scripts

The brief advice and brief intervention scripts describe how advice and interventions can be delivered by professionals.

Physical activity pathway practitioners guide

The physical activity pathway practitioners guide gives rationale and background for professionals on the physical activity pathway, and how to use Scot-PASQ and the brief advice and brief intervention scripts.

The physical activity pathway quick guide is a shortened version of the full practitioner guide.

Raising the issue of physical activity

The online e-learning module raising the issue of physical activity can be used to increase the professional's knowledge and understanding of the benefits of being physically active and how to raise the issue with patients.

Active Scotland

The Active Scotland website is an interactive online resource which allows the user to find physical activity opportunities in their area.  This is an excellent signposting resource.
