NHS Health Scotland

NHS Health Scotland is a special health board within the NHS in Scotland with a national remit to improving health and reduce inequalities.

As the national health improvement agency fro Scotland, NHS Health Scotland has a key role in supporting implementation of the national physical activity strategy Let’s Make Scotland More Active (Scottish Executive, 2003). Within the organisation there is a dedicated team working on physical activity across a range of specialist areas including public health science, learning and workforce development and programme design and delivery. This role involves the management and co-ordination of the nation a physical activity programme for Scotland including the Physical Activity and Health Alliance.
