National Performance Framework

This Scottish Government framework is designed to be clear, logical and easy to understand. It replaces a proliferation of competing priorities, set by the previous administration, providing a unified vision and quantifiable benchmarks against which future progress can be assessed.

The National Performance Framework was published as part of the 2007 Spending Review and draws on the success of the outcomes-based performance model used in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States.

 The Scottish Governments' vision for success for Scotland is described and measured in four parts:
