European Network for the Promotion of Health Enhancing Physical Activity

The European network for the promotion of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA Europe) is a collaborative project which works for better health through physical activity among all people in the WHO European Region, by strengthening and supporting efforts to increase participation and improve the conditions for healthy lifestyles.

HEPA are currently involved in a number of projects and initiatives such as quantifying the effects of cycling and walking, compiling an international inventory of document on physical activity promotion, a review of national approaches and networks for physical activity, an exchange of experience for the promotion of physical activity and sports promotion in children, gathering case study examples of physical activity from the transport sector and the role of physical activity in tackling obesity.

Their website also plays host to a number of publications including physical activity articles published by HEPA Europe in scientific journals, books, reports and materials as well as physical activity related World Health Organisation (WHO) publications .
