Walking for Wellbeing: developing sustainable engagement between research, policy and practice.

The Physical Activity for Health Research Centre (PAHRC); University of Edinburgh are proposing to host a knowledge exchange project on walking for wellbeing and would love for you to be involved.

PAHRC Edinburgh University are trying to coordinate a mixture of multidisciplinary academics, practitioners and policy makers in order to develop a better understanding of walking for wellbeing and to foster an interdisciplinary network to engage in KE on this topic.

In detail, the project seeks to:

  • explore current definitions of wellbeing and understand how they fit into awalking for wellbeing context
  • consider how best to measure walking for wellbeing (including self monitoring, programme evaluation and wider surveillance)explore
  • how best to embed research and practitioner knowledge within policy and practice

Between February and July 2014, PAHRC plan to host a series of 3 one-day workshops with additional online activity in between. Please find attached a one-page summary for further information.
