Brief Interventions: Improving Patient Interactions Training

Start date 14/09/2010 | End date 15/09/2010
Where is this happening? Loughborough University

A two‐day introductory course aimed at professionals working one‐to‐one with patients in a physical activity setting.

Based on the philosophy of solution focused practice, this course is designed for health and exercise professionals who work face to face with patients.

The course aims to equip professionals with the skills to:

  • Help patients identify aspects of life they wish to change;
  • Support patients in constructing a vision of their ‘preferred future’;
  • Identify what patients are already doing that is working;
  • Encourage and measure progress.

The course utilises a mix of slides, real patient video examples and discussion. Practical exercises are built into the course to make it possible for participants to immediately embed their new skills into practice in everyday patient interactions.

Each participant will receive a comprehensive course manual and two months of email support from the trainer.

Due to high demand, two separate course are being held at Loughborough University on:

  • Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th September 2010 and also
  • Tuesday 7th & Wednesday 8th December 2010

Further information is provided in the attached flyer.  Book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited to 20 participants per course.

Book 3 or more places and receive 20% discount - reducing the cost from £200 to £160 per participant.
