Sustrans Pilot Award Scheme for Schools

Sustrans is piloting a new award scheme for secondary school pupils to help develop the confidence and skills to travel actively and independently by walking, scooting and cycling.

They are currently looking for schools to register their interest in the award ahead of its official launch in 2016.

Pupils participating in the award must complete challenges in seven key areas, including active journeys, equipment, journey planning and promotion of active travel. The challenges can be completed in and outside the classroom and are broadly linked to curriculum areas across all UK nations.

Pupils can progress and achieve three levels of award; Bronze, Silver and Gold.

For further information and to register your interest, visit the Sustrans website.
