Cycling Scotland Community Development Grants

Cycling Scotland to support communities to take a leading role in transforming their local area to become cycle friendly.

Community groups across Scotland will be able to apply for a Development Grant of up to £20,000 to help them overcome barriers to cycling and work towards becoming a Cycle Friendly Community.

Development Grants will support and enable delivery of initiatives and projects that will lead to an increase in journeys made by bike in communities across Scotland, supporting the Scottish Government’s vision of 10% of all journeys being by bike by 2020.

The grants, funded by Scottish Government and administered by Cycling Scotland, form part of a wider project to create a nationally recognised Cycle Friendly Community Award scheme.  Following a period of consultation, including feedback from four focus community pilot projects, the development of the award is in its final stages and is due for launch later in 2015.

Full details of the Development Grants are available from the communities section of the Cycling Scotland website here.
