Aberdeen Car Free Day A Success

The NHS Grampian Aberdeen City Public Health Team report on the success of the sixth annual ‘In Town Without My Car Day’ event in Aberdeen last month.

As part of European Mobility Week, areas of Aberdeen city centre were closed off to motorised traffic on Sunday 20th September. The streets were filled instead with a variety of fun, free, family-friendly activities, to encourage walking, cycling, sustainable living, public transport and responsible car use.

NHS Grampian had a stall with information about local health walks and active travel, as well as Paths for All badges for kids, which proved very popular, and friendly staff on hand to answer any questions.  Over 350 members of the public engaged with staff during the day, and the event broke all records for attendance.

For more information, visit the Paths for All website.
