Applications are now open for the Young People’s Sport Panel!

Sport Scotland are looking for a group of young people to speak up for sport and work with them and Young Scot to help influence and shape sport in Scotland, and they would value your support to spread the word! Do you know someone who has got what it takes to speak up for sport? Applications will close at noon on Thursday 22nd February 2016 They are looking for young people who are: • Living in Scotland • Aged between 14 - 23 • Passionate about sport • Able to commit 3 hours a week on a voluntary basis • Want to make a difference More information is available online below:

Spirit of 2012 has recently announced it is accepting applications for the Legacy 2014 Sporting Equality Fund This £300K fund is aimed at community groups which are looking to work with girls and young women who are not currently physically active but want to become active. Physical Activity Levels of Teenage Girls in Scotland Decline

The latest supplementary results from the 2008 Scottish Health Survey indicate that activity levels for girls have fallen from 63% in 2003 to 56% in 2008, with only 33% of teenage girls meeting the minimum physical activity recommendations for good health.
